Soup season is year-round for me, but with these super chilly winter days recently, soup has been a constant craving for me. Soo Ja Seolleongtang serves up variations of the ox bone broth along with a handful of other Korean specialties like galbitang (beef short rib soup), galbijjim (braised beef short ribs), and naengmyeon (cold noodles). The interior is spacious and clean, and service was attentive when we went. The staff constantly checked on us and offered us refills on our banchan. Sooja Seolleongtang. If you've never had seolleongtang, know that it intentionally comes unseasoned. You have control over the amount of salt and pepper. The Sooja comes with beef brisket, shank, and noodles, and it was the perfect way to warm up. Galbitang. No complaints here. It gave us everything we expect from a proper galbitang -- fall-off-the-bone meat, glass noodles, and a clear, tasty broth. Definitely will be back to fulfill my soup cravings!

Traditional Korean beef soups served by the same family that owns the fusion cuisine shop in the same mall, Soo Ja Seolleongtang welcomes many local Korean community members as well as fans of clean, healthy soups. The large parking lot is seldom full but this mall packs quite a few good but possibly hidden gems given that this location is a bit awkwardly located within Fremont. It's not near the city center and therefore can be easily overlooked but do not pass here without trying all there is to offer! The food in this mall is fantastic! As you enter, you'll be greeted by their staff and welcomed to sit in their four-person tables. They can push them together to accommodate larger parties but during our lunch visit, aside from a large table of older Korean folks who seem to either know the owner or are regulars, most parties were pretty small. The menu is quite simple - there are a few variations of their soup with options for different kinds of boiled meat and noodles and some other classic Korean staples including bibimbap and pancakes (mung bean). They have individual sizes but also shareable ones for the table. We ended up ordering the modeum suyuk, a boiled meat platter, which includes brisket, flank, tendons, and oxtails. The whole thing is topped with fresh chives that add to the fragrance and taste of the dish; they're very healthy to eat as well. There is a bit of soup that goes with the meat but if you're hankering for more the soup, get the tang (soup). The modeum suyuk comes with two bowls of rice and banchan (kimchi and daikon). You may also order extra rice and noodles if you prefer. We also got an order of the mung bean pancake and they were so crispy on the outside yet soft and tender on the inside. It tasted great with the dipping sauce but also just fine without it. Felt moderately healthy knowing it was vegetarian. The staff were great about explaining the menu and checking in on us periodically for tea or water. They were friendly and very welcoming. After the meal service was over, we were also given yakult yogurt drinks to help with digestion. It was a nice way to top off the mess and settle our full stomachs. Overall, Soo Ja Seolleongtang is must go if you are a fan or haven't tried the traditional Korean beef broth and boiled meats. I've tried a couple in South Bay and this place is definitely comparable at a more reasonable price. The space is cozy and not at all crowded which makes the dining experience comfortable and fulfilling on a cold day. Soup fans will enjoy this and health nuts will find satisfaction in the minimal ingredients used to make their delicious specialities.

Ambiance: Soo Ja Seolleongtang offers a clean and modern interior. It's the kind of place where you can settle in comfortably and enjoy a hearty meal without feeling rushed. Service : The service is amazing. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable about the menu offering excellent recommendations and I felt very taken care of throughout my dining experience. We were quickly seating to and had our food out quickly which made our experience very enjoyable. Food: The galbi jjim was a showstopper with tender and flavorful beef short ribs braised to perfection. The star dish in my opinion was the soo ja seolleongtang. It delivered such a rich and nourishing broth. Every bite felt like a warm hug.

Ambiance: A extremely clean and modern seolleongtang restaurant with plenty of seating. Service: the service was amazing. The staff was kinda and caring. You can tell they care about every single person that walks through the door. Food: To me this is the best seolleongtang place in the bay. We got Sooja seolleongtang and the mungbean pancakes. The soup was delicious. It had a perfect balance of hearty and clean taste. The meat was tender and paired nicely with the noodles. My favorite was the mung bean pancakes. They were a perfect level of crispy and savory. I found myself wanting more even when I was extremely full. Note: I highly recommend this restaurant and am excited to go back to try more of the menu! The mungbean pancake is a special item not on the menu. It's on a paper on the side I believe.

One of my favorite spots to get galbi tang. The broth is so good and it pairs well with a side of rice. Perfect for cold weather.

The store here is actually decently big! Seating is best for smaller parties. Prices are reasonable. Service is good. I hope they expand the menu a bit to order more meat? Felt like sullangtang didn't have enough. Galbitang was good, but tasted a bit too heavy in soy sauce. Overall, would come here again for simple soup!

This is the perfect restaurant for a cold day! I got the beef bone broth and it comes unsalted and you add pepper and salt to your own tastes. I thought the banchan were also really good and my friend who got a bibimbap and instead of the typical spicy sauce, it came with a thick doenjang(fermented bean paste) stew which I thought was really unique. The broth for the ox bone soup was so creamy, I drank every last drop. I like that it had some noodles in it too. After we left we were all very warm

Been wanting to try a spot that specialized in selleongtang and found this gem when my hubby and I ate at the Sooja Fusion Bistro. Turns out they had a spot that specializes in it. Same plaza as the fusion bistro. The service was really good and it's bright here. Servers are attentive. Plenty of space and tables! Multiple options of banchan. Kimchi, radish kimchi, white kimchi and some other dish I forgot what it's called. Anyway I had ordered the ttukbaegi bulgogi and it was so delicious! Super hot and I burned my mouth a few times. They gave plenty of meat and the glass noodles on the bottom was delicious. I took some leftovers home. My hubby got one of the seolleongtans I forgot which one tho. The broth was so milky and meat was so good. One reason I gave it a 4 star was cuz my hubby found a piece of hair in his soup when it got to our table. Kinda gross. So that's why it's a 4star review. We wanna come back here tho and try all the other stuff but please make sure no more hair fallouts in the food.

Went at 11:30am on a Saturday and we were seated immediately. Waiter brought us menus and water. It seems they are able to accommodate bigger groups as we saw them move tables together for a group of 8! We ordered the sooja seolleongtang, yangji seolleongtang and the hot stone bibimbap. The waiter brought us side dishes of kimchi, radish kimchi, and marinated onions/daikon, and a plate of green onions for the soups. The broth of the seolleongtang had a nice clean beef flavor. You can add your own salt and pepper. There was a good amount of meat pieces as well. For the price, I thought the seolleongtang was worth it and would definitely come back. The restaurant is located in a plaza with other restaurants. There's another with the same name that's on the opposite end, but serves different food from what I heard. Parking was easy when we first arrived but was filled by the time we left in the afternoon.
